Position: Genomic Analyst
Status: Full Time
Position Summary:
This individual will analyze large cohorts of high-throughput data generated from clinical cancer samples. The position focuses on generating RNA expression profiles from microarrays and evaluating this expression profile’s utility against currently employed clinical protocols. This individual will also work on a team with other researchers and will be required to participate in meetings and discussions.
Responsibilities:
- Quality control and Quality Assessment of incoming data
- Use data mining or other statistical techniques to generate gene expression profiles
- Evaluate RNA expression profiles or other molecular markers against currently employed clinical protocols for treating cancer
- Be up-to-date with literature advances in both microarray informatics and cancer research
Skills and Experience:
- Master or PhD in bioinformatics or related field. Master degree should be research based and have required a defense.
- Work with any array platform, NGS, or high-throughput technology is required.
- Work with human genetics and specifically cancer genetics is preferred.
- Linux, R, Matlab, Perl or Python
- Knowledge of data mining is preferred.
